Minecraft is known for two things: being an open-ended exploration game and for its support of user-created modifications, or mods. Minecraft mods are programs that change any part of Minecraft; for example, you can add new weapons or items, new monsters or change the music in the game. The extent of what mods can do doesn’t stop there as they also allow you to do more advanced tasks such as changing the graphics of the game and adding in new gameplay mechanics that can completely change the game. However, before you can use any mod with Minecraft you need to first install the mod. Unfortunately, this process isn’t as simple as installing a program; you must uncompress specific files and add the mod files to them. In order to install the Minecraft server, there is a need to buy minecon cape. The playing at the server will become easy and simple for the players. The checking of the programs is essential to deal with the best server. The playing of the game will offer the best experience to the players.
Before you can begin installing Minecraft mods, need access to a compression tool. Free programs such as WinRAR or 7-Zip allow you to compress and uncompress files with ease and either of these programs are mandatory to install a Minecraft mod. Once you have downloaded and installed a compression tool, you can begin installing your Minecraft mod. You may also want to check out the mod loader for Minecraft which makes installing and managing multiple mods much easier.
Open the Start menu and enter the phrase %appdata% into the search bar and press Enter on your keyboard. This automatically opens up the correct folder on your hard drive. Double-click the .minecraft folder located at the top of the window. From there, open the .bin folder and look for the minecraft.jar file.
Before accessing this file, make a copy of it and place it in a secure location on your hard drive. If something goes wrong when you are modding Minecraft, having a back-up copy of this file will allow you to revert your game back to its original working condition.
Right-click minecraft.jar and open it with your compression tool you downloaded earlier. From there, it’s only a matter of copying the mod files into the correct locations in the minecraft.jar file. The exact location of where to copy these files will change with every mod; consult the mod’s instructions for where to place each file. Once you have finished copying the files, make sure to delete the META-INF file located inside minecraft.jar; if you do not, Minecraft will crash immediately upon start-up.
Once this is complete, close the file and launch Minecraft. For most modifications, you will need to start a new game to see the changes take effect. All Minecraft mods install the same way and in time, this process will be second nature.
