New York Comic Con weekend was nothing short of epic – fans and comic book nerds packed the place, all sharing love for their favorite creators and properties. Naturally, we couldn’t miss out on the fun! This year, we had Frederick L. Jones and Whyt Manga, the masterminds behind mega hits Clock Striker and Apple Black respectively, joining the con.
Frederick kicked things off early, mingling with fellow publishers like Viz, Marvel, and DC (just to name a few). He even got the chance to meet some of the artists behind DC’s newly released Absolute Universe comic run!
He had a blast exploring the event, and checking out the impressive booths and displays. Of course, we had our own table, spreading the word about our Saturday AM titles with the help of Anita Castellar from FanGirl Consulting & Brand Management.
Whyt, on the other hand, played a double role this year. Not only did he show up for Saturday AM but he teamed up with the talented crew from Sandstorm Comics over in Artist Alley, where they met fans, did some character sketches, and handed out free samples of their awesome comics!
Frederick and Whyt had different missions this time, but they did finally get to meet up and came together for their panel, The Art of Leveling Up: Designing Power Systems in Comics, Manga, and Anime, alongside unOrdinary creator uru-chan and Just a Goblin’s Brandon Chen.
This is what they had to say about their experience at the show:
“NYCC 24 was amazing, best time in New York so far! Meeting friends, fans and peers was fun and productive. I was also a part of the Sandstorm booth at artist alley and the environment was spectacular.”
– Whyt Manga
“As has been the case all of 2024, this year’s New York Comic Con has proved that Saturday AM is the one of the most exciting and consistent brands in manga globally. Our partners consist of some of the biggest companies in comics and tech and our fans have shown up in such numbers that they have to acknowledge that what Saturday AM lacks in funding — we more than make up for in sales and enthusiasm. There are BIG THINGS coming and the meetings that I had this week show that our momentum is only growing faster. Stay tuned!”

All in all, it was an unforgettable event, and I know the guys can’t wait to be back next year. Check out the photos from NYCC24 below! And don’t forget to drop a comment if you attended—let us know what your favorite part was!
