Saturday AM x Anime NYC 2025

Last weekend was a straight-up blast! The Saturday AM team packed up and made their way to the Big Apple for Anime NYC 2025.

We rolled in with the dream team: Morganne Walker, JR De Bard, Whyt Manga, Raymond Brown, Austin Harvey-Younis, and of course, CEO Frederick L. Jones.

Saturday AM Booth & Big Announcements

We set up shop with our own booth stacked with books, exclusive prints, custom art from our creators, and a sneak peek at our upcoming video game with SON STUDIOS: Battle Manga.

And if that wasn’t enough, we dropped a bombshell announcement about the voice cast for our heroes: Anairis Quiñones as Cast from Clock Striker and Alejandro Saab as Sano from Apple Black.

We even shared details on how YOU can audition to become a voice actor for one of our heroes!

We’re cooking with fire here and can’t wait to reveal more about the game, including our upcoming roster of in-game characters. Stay tuned!

Sponsoring the American Manga Awards 2025

That was just one highlight of the weekend. Saturday AM was proud to be a sponsor of the American Manga Awards 2025. With JR De Bard’s recent win, this sponsorship carried extra meaning for us and our community.

The Release of Making Manga

We didn’t stop there! Fans at Anime NYC got exclusive deals, including the release of our long-awaited sequel to How to Draw Diverse Manga.

Our new book, Making Manga: The Saturday AM Way, features contributions from top creators like Whyt Manga, JR De Bard, Fred Tornager, and Issaka Galadima. Inside, we dive into topics like black hairstyles and facial features, representing different body types, and respectfully creating diverse character designs.

But that’s just the start. Making Manga continues our mission of providing fresh perspectives from global manga creators and industry pros.

What’s Inside Making Manga

Aside from step-by-step guides, the book gives detailed breakdowns of constructing page layouts, pitching your manga, printing your manga, developing your story, and even completing a manga from start to finish with insights from Clock Striker and Apple Black.

You’ll also find exclusive interviews with printers, distributors, librarians, comic book professionals, journalists, and more. If you’re an aspiring mangaka looking for a “How To” book that’s real, diverse, and professional — you need to check out Making Manga: The Saturday AM Way.

Battle Manga Panel with Frederick L. Jones

The man himself, Frederick L. Jones, also hosted a panel diving deep into our upcoming Battle Manga game. The excitement in the room was unreal — and yes, the game is headed to consoles near you!

Check out the video of the panel below:
